the round doorway

sunrise_apolloRumi is one of my favorite mystical poets.  I need to read more of his stuff.

Today on Twitter, this caught my eye…

“The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you; Don’t go back to sleep. You must ask for what you really want; Don’t go back to sleep. People are going back and forth across the doorsill where the two worlds touch. The door is round and open. Don’t go back to sleep.” ~ Rumi

Do you know what he’s talking about here?  Are you awake?  Can you see the round open doorway?

The ability to move with the breeze–back and forth between perspectives and “belief bubbles”–is something to cultivate during times of intense change.  Yes, it feels unsettled and unsettling, but there’s so much more to life than finding a safe, fixed perspective.  Feel the fear…observe the resistance…allow yourself to move and be moved.

go create an inspired day.  play with life.

  1. Not very familiar with Rumi, but I like your reading on this quote–if I let the breeze lead, despite the risk/danger, I’m sure to find opportunity for … change, beginnings, endings, poetry … full life. Thanks.

  2. Yes, Yousei…as a human race, we are–like it or not–moving ever more rapidly through the corridors of time. We all have the sense of increased speed. Now it’s just time to wake up, move with it and be ready for the adventure as it unfolds.

PS…hope you’ll visit back here often
